The following outline is for students declaring their major Fall 2006 or later and before Fall 2008. All other COSC majors should visit their advisors with any questions. |

I. REQUIRED COURSES (34 semester hours)

III CTEC PROGRAM ELECTIVES NOTE: A student in one track may take a CTEC or COSC course not required by their track as an elective, provided the student satisfies the prerequisites(s) for the selected course. V. REQUIRED NATURAL LABORATORY SCIENCES (7-8 semester hours) Two courses from two different natural sciences. At least one course must have an associated laboratory experience. For example:

VII. GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS COMMUNICATION SKILLS (6 semester hours)
ARTS & HUMANITIES (9 semester hours)
Choose from designated General Education courses in art, literature, modern languages, music, philosophy, speech, theater, and interdisciplinary Arfrican American studies. No more than two courses may be from one discipline. SOCIAL SCIENCES (12 semester hours)
Choose from designated General Education Courses in anthropology, economics, geography, history, political science, psychology, social work, sociology, or interdisciplinary social science. No more than two courses may be from one discipline. NOTE: Science, Mathematics, and Emerging Issues General Education Requirements are satisfied by required courses in areas I through V. Note: The department reserves the right to specify suitable General Education courses, in keeping wit COMAR, for its majors. VII. INSTITUTIONAL REQUIREMENTS FRESHMEN SEMINAR (3 semester hours)
Freshmen Seminar (FRSE 101) is required for all entering freshmen and for all transfer students with fewer than 12 credits. HEALTH AND WELLNESS (3 semester hours) Choose one of the courses designed for this category.
