Our Information Assurance Programs
The Department of Computer Science offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Technology (CTEC) with a concentration in computer and network security. It also offers several graduate courses in information assurance. The principle objective of the Computer and Network Security track is to provide a strong foundation in computer security principles, as well as practical hands-on experience. The department’s cyber security instructional and research laboratory is based on a model provided by the West Point Military Academy and is built with equipment generously donated by Cisco Systems.
The Department of Management Information Systems offers a master of science in management information systems with a concentration in information assurance. The program prepares students for careers in information assurance and other related information technology fields. The department provides unique learning experiences through virtual laboratories that mimic the work environment of IT professionals. The virtual security laboratories are accessible from anywhere 24/7 by any student who has Internet access and a valid user account.
Faculty and students are conducting research in computer and network security, privacy and trust. Drs. Seonho Choi, Azene Zenebe and Bo Yang with their students are spearheading this effort. See here for more.
