Federal Technology Expo at L'Enfant Plaza

The Federal Technology and Vendor Expo at L'Enfant Plaza will feature the GSA, NTSB, FAA, HUD, and the Dept. of Energy! This is a multi-agency event and, while each agency has a different mission, all are related by their civilian agency status. Ideally located between the National Mall and the Southwest Waterfront, L’Enfant Plaza is within five blocks of 19 major federal agencies, making it effortless to do business in Washington. This event is located within the L’Enfant Metro Stop Mall, and is easily accessible to the agencies that receive promotions for the expo. This space is part of the community gathering place for agencies housed at L'Enfant Plaza, and provides a unique environment and atmosphere for both attendees and exhibitors.

Codebreaker Challenge

NSA's 7th annual Codebreaker Challenge is now live. It is a hands-on software reverse engineering challenge where students work to complete mission-focused objectives to push their school to the top of the competition leader board. The task for this year's fictional challenge is to develop new exploitations to spy on messages in the terrorists communication application, TerrorTime, in order to thwart attacks before they can happen. Students are given seven tasks of increasing difficulty that culminate in developing the capability to "Spoof TerrorTime messages, Masquerade as TerrorTime users without knowledge of their credentials, and decrypt TerrorTime chat messages". Feedback from previous challenges indicated students learned a great deal from participating, so with your help, we encourage as much student participation as possible!

2nd Maryland InfraGard Cybersecurity Conference

The theme of this event is Cyber Incident Response. This event will be open to the public and you do not need to be an InfraGard Member to attend. InfraGard is a partnership between the FBI and members of the private sector. The InfraGard program provides a vehicle for seamless public-private collaboration with government that expedites the timely exchange of information and promotes mutual learning opportunities relevant to the protection of Critical Infrastructure. October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month!

Held every October, National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) is a collaborative effort between government and industry to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity and to ensure that all Americans have the resources they need to be safer and more secure online. NCSAM 2019 emphasizes personal accountability and stresses the importance of taking proactive steps to enhance cybersecurity at home and in the workplace. This year's overarching message is “Own IT. Secure IT. Protect IT.” It will focus on key areas including citizen privacy, consumer devices, and e-commerce security.
