About the Event:
What: CPU Camp - Computer Programming for Youth
Where: Bowie State University COSC Department
When: Tuesday, July 6, 2010 – Friday, July 16, 2010
Time: 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Instructor: Dr. Daryl Stone, COSC Department
Eligibility:
- Ages from 12 to 17 years old
- Have an interest in computers and excelling in school
- Committee will select 15 students based on teacher recommendation and most recent report card
Cost: -$150.00 (reduced from $250)
-Must provide your own transportation
-Must provide own lunch
-We provide snacks, materials, professor and student assistance
Topics include:
- Introduction to computer programming
- Algorithm design
- Logical thinking
- College life
- Time management
- Being a scholar and a gentleman
Schedule:
-
9:00 a.m. - Morning class lecture and lab

11:30 a.m. - Lunch
-
12:00 p.m. - Free time (Outdoor activities or Computer Gaming)

1:30 p.m. - Enrichment Activity (Presenters, Campus Tour, etc...)
-
2:30 p.m. - Afternoon class lecture and lab

4:30 p.m. - Campers leave for home
Apply now:
Campers must be recommended by a teacher. Parents must provide the teacher
recommendation and copy of the camper’s most recent report card. These items
are due by Wednesday, June 23, 2010. Selected campers will be notified by Friday, June 25th. The registration fee ($150) will be due by Friday, July 2nd.
