Welcome to HS-SEEr

The Developing Homeland Security Expertise to Support Emergency Evacuation Research (HS-SEER) program is a comprehensive program providing curricula, student programming, and research experiences for Computer Science graduate students. Through this program the CS Department will offer three graduate level courses to train students in quantitative data analysis research methods and social network analysis.

Supported students will receive stipends and engage in summer research at the National Consortium For The Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) based at the University of Maryland College Park. Students and faculty will engage in research to explore the use of mobile devices during emergency evacuations and integrate human emotion and behavior in virtual reality evacuation simulations
